• 1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
  • 1/2 cup oat bran or 1/2 cup wheat berries
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup cranberry juice or 1 cup apple juice
  • toasted walnuts (optional)
  • wheat germ (optional)
  • 1 In a slow cooker, combine oats, wheat berries, apples, cinnamon and vanilla.
  • 2 Stir in water and juice.
  • 3 Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or overnight.
  • 4 Stir well.
  • 5 Top with walnuts and/or wheatgerm or your favorite toppings.
