• 1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce & mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 split English muffins , toasted and buttered
  • 1 Preheat broiler.
  • 2 Brown sausage in skillet. Drain fat. Add basil, oregano and tomato sauce.
  • 3 Sprinkle 1 tbsp of the shredded cheese on each half of toasted, buttered English muffin.
  • 4 Divide sausage mixture among the muffin halves. Top with remaining cheese.
  • 5 Broil about 3 inches from source of heat until cheese melts. Serve immediately.
